A rollover on the Sarina-Homebush Rd shuts eastbound lane, sends two to Mackay Hospital

Two people have been taken to hospital after a car rollover west of Mackay.

Emergency services rushed to the Sarina-Homebush Rd near Sunnyside just before 12pm on Sunday, February 23, after reports a car had rolled.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said by the time they made it to the scene a man in his 30s and woman in her 20s had freed themselves from the vehicle.

The man sustained a lacerations to his face in the crash and both were transported to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.

Police closed the eastbound lane of the Sarina-Homebush Rd near Sunnyside after arriving at the scene, and it remains shut at the time of writing.
