M1 lanes reopen after Yatala incident that left one man dead

Traffic has returned to normal on the M1 after northbound lanes were closed for hours early this morning after a man was killed in an incident with a truck.

Traffic has returned to normal on the M1 after northbound lanes were closed for hours early this morning after a man was killed in an incident with a truck.

A male pedestrian died following the incident at Yatala overnight.

The northbound lanes reopened just after 8am, but peak-hour commuters were warned to expect delays to continue for some time.

Paramedics were called to the incident about 1am, assessing a man with life-threatening injuries.

He died at the scene.

Another stable patient was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
