Opposition Leader Steven Miles has unveiled his shadow cabinet featuring several new faces, including the resurrection of MP Mark Bailey in Health.

The entire Labor Opposition frontbench will for the first time take on shadow cabinet roles.

Shannon Fentiman and Lance McCallum will double team Treasurer David Janetzki, with Ms Fentiman taking Treasury and Mr McCallum appointed as Shadow Minister for Energy.

Opposition Deputy Leader Cameron Dick will unsurprisingly battle Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie as Shadow Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Regional Development.

After being dumped from cabinet last year, Mark Bailey has re-emerged in Mr Miles’ Opposition Cabinet as Shadow Minister for Health, Ambulance Services and Mental Health and will go toe to toe with Health Minister Tim Nicholls.

“I think he will be very well equipped to expose the new minister and their promises in healthcare,” Mr Miles said.

“But I remember that we had a very significant rebuild of our hospitals underway, and his job will be to make sure that the LNP delivers on those new hospitals.”

Meaghan Scanlon has attained several meaty portfolios, becoming the Opposition’s spokeswoman for the department of Attorney-General and shadow Minister for Justice, Housing, Homeless and Homeownership.

Ms Scanlon’s portfolio matchup will see her against Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Deb Frecklington and LNP rising star Housing Minister Sam O’Connor.

Grace Grace will take on four portfolios as Shadow Minister for Trade, Industrial Relations, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Charis Mullen will keep Multicultural Affairs and gain Public Works.

Glen Butcher will face Minister Dan Purdie as shadow Minister for Police and Tim Mander as shadow Minister for Sport.

Linus Power will rise to the Opposition frontbench as shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, while Joan Pease will become Shadow Minister for Small Business and Customer Service and Open Data against Minister Steve Minikin.

Bundaberg MP Tom Smith has been elevated to Shadow Minister for Primary Industries and Rural Development and Manufacturing and Corrine McMillan Shadow Minister for Child Safety, Communities and Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence.

Cairns MP, and one of Labor’s only surviving regional MPs Michael Healy will remain in a familiar role as Shadow Minister for Tourism and Jobs and Training, as will Bart Mellish in Transport and Main Roads.

Mr Mellish will also become Shadow Minister for Veterans, the only portfolio held by Premier David Crisafulli.

Mick de Brenni has been dropped from shadow cabinet and will be the Opposition Manager of Business and Shadow Cabinet Secretary.

Former Police Minister Mark Ryan has also been left out of Mr Miles’ cabinet.

Mr Miles said Mr Ryan would be appointed to another role.

The appointment of the head of the PCCC is also yet to be confirmed.
