CRICKET season has started and action is about to commence on the home front with India on their way for Test, T20 and ODI action.

The Big Bash is also on the horizon with squads still being finalised for the men and women.

Fox Sports viewers are about to be bombarded with action from every angle with the sports broadcaster about to launch an incredible 13 shows for your viewing.

Along with the Test cricket, there will be shows The Big Break, Tea for Two, Come in Spinner, Cricket 360, Test Day, B4 the Bash, Cricket Legends, Cricket A.M, Crash the Bash, Fox Cricket Classics and The Nightwatchmen.

For cricket tragics, you are about to experience the game like never before.

Buckle up, it's going to be a long hot summer.

Coaching sagas

THE NRL coaching merry-go-round continues turning with everyone waiting to see whether a domino falls and triggers a huge shake-up in the coaching ranks.

Firstly, the Broncos appear to have overlooked champion Kevin Walters and the promising Jason Demetriou in favour of Souths incumbent Anthony Siebold.

It's safe to say whatever road they take will have implications for other teams like Souths, New Zealand and Queensland.

The Broncos aren't the only team with coaching question marks with  the West Tigers and Penrith Panthers both very uneasy moving forward with rumours running wild.

The domino that has fallen so far is the appointment of favourite son Des Hasler back to Manly at the expense of Trent Barrett, whose contract is still six months from walking away from the northern beaches.

My pick for the Broncos job would be the man with the Bronco DNA in his blood Kevvie Walters.

Quick thoughts

HERO of the week: It's great to have the NBA back with the Aussies playing big parts in their respective team victories so far.

Villain of the week: Quade Cooper is brilliant on his day but his off-field behaviour has been less then acceptable. His parting shot at the coach wasn't needed. How about you shut your mouth and let your actions on the field talk for you.

Did you know: Nathan Lyon has never bowled a front foot no-ball in 20,000 deliveries.

Bomber's best: Melbourne Victory couldn't get over their cross-town rivals.

Saturday is a great race day and I can see the speedy Houtzen winning race 7 in Melbourne.
