A $90 MILLION Ipswich Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) generating hundreds of jobs and providing the region with an entertainment venue to be proud of has been unveiled as Ipswich City Council's blue-chip project for the future.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale is presenting all candidates running in the January 31 election in seats across the region with a brochure that outlines council's vision for a project which will bring millions of dollars into the Ipswich economy, revitalise the CBD and make the city a regional destination point.

Council has unveiled three possible locations for IPAC and is seeking $300,000 in funding from the State Government for an initial feasibility study.

Cr Pisasale wants all sides of politics to be aware of the benefits IPAC can bring to the region

"I am meeting with every candidate to let them know what Ipswich needs," Cr Pisasale said.

"The Norman St Bridge is high on our agenda, but so is the regional status of this city.

"So I have taken some time to put together a brochure that showcases our key project - an Ipswich Performing Arts Centre that will take Ipswich and the region into the next century.

"We are growing as a regional centre and we have matured as a city. We are ready for this.

"I want to not only give this brochure to the candidates, I want to explain it to them.

"If they want to represent the city they need to chase the things we need."
