Young boy still critical after suffering ‘significant’ burns in Goomeri petrol fire
Queensland Health advise the boy’s condition has not changed as of late Friday night, after he suffered burns to about 60 per cent of his body on Thursday.

A young boy remains in a critical but stable condition in a Brisbane hospital after suffering “significant burns” to 6o per cent of his body in a petrol fire on a private Goomeri property this week.
Queensland Health advised the boy’s condition had not changed as of late Friday afternoon (July 9) after paramedics rushed to his aid at the residence on Thursday night (July 8).
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said crews attended the scene just after 7pm on July 8.
Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before taking him to a showground north east of Murgon, to rendezvous with the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew.
The primary-school aged boy was flown by the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to the Queensland Children's Hospital and suffered “significant” burns to his body, face and airways.
“He reportedly suffered critical burns to approximately 60 per cent of his body,” a LifeFlight spokesperson said.
