RUGBY LEAGUE: Gympie Devils president Mitch Hillcoat says he hasn't seen numbers so strong at the club in years as the club releases squads for tonight's Round 1 action.
Former Sunshine Coast Falcons Colts coach Michael Buckley takes command of the A-grade side in their first tilt against the Nambour Crushers, while the reserves and the Colts bring strong line-ups of their own.

Hillcoat said the Round 1 games would be an exciting watch for local spectators.
"Our numbers have been unreal, they haven't looked this good since about 2012 or 2013 when we had some very strong finals sides,” he said.
"It would be great for the community to get down to Jack Stokes and get behind the club, it's definitely going to be an exciting year.”
Hillcoat praised Buckley's professionalism and experience around the squad since his move to the region.
The Devils' under-18 and reserves have their own matches against play Nambour, but the inaugural women's trial match against Maroochydore was cancelled after the Sunshine Coast side double-booked a match with the Hervey Bay Seagulls.
The women's side play their first season match against South Burnett on April 6.
