Full list of names: Arrest warrants released for Gympie court no-shows

A number of people will be getting a knock on their door after failing to appear in the Gympie court this week, with the Magistrate issuing warrants for their arrest.

A Gympie magistrate has issued a number of arrest warrants under the Bail Act after several people failed to show up in court on Monday.

Gympie police will now be on the lookout for these people, though this does not mean the charges against them have been proven.

Arrest warrants were issued by Magistrate Bevan Hughes for the following Gympie region residents who failed to appear at Gympie Magistrates Court on July 21.

Zackery Blake

A Bail Act warrant was released for Zackery Blake’s arrest after the 21-year-old Gympie local failed to appear at Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday, July 21.

Mr Blake was charged with driving without a licence.

The magistrate said Mr Blake’s matter was transferred to Gympie court by request.

No plea has been entered or indicated.

Scott James Wilkinson

A Bail Act warrant was released for Scott James Wilkinson’s arrest after the 38-year-old Amamoor man also failed to appear on Monday.

Mr Wilkinson was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing used drug paraphernalia.

No plea has been entered or indicated.

Jasminum Veronica Maher

A Bail Act warrant was released for Jasminum Veronica Maher’s arrest after the 46-year-old woman also failed to show up at court on Monday.

Ms Maher was charged with stealing after a previous conviction, and Magistrate Bevan Hughes released a warrant to lay on her file until her next court date on August 11.

Solicitor Chris Anderson said “historic conflicts have arisen between me and Ms Maher” and that he was seeking an adjournment for Ms Maher to obtain legal aid.

Police prosecutor Mel Campbell said she had seen Ms Maher in the courthouse earlier in the day, but Ms Maher could not be found at the time of her hearing.
