The Bruce Highway was closed north of Gympie on Saturday night due to a truck fire.

A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service said the incident had been reported about 9.20pm and emergency service crews, including firefighters, were at the scene.

The incident happened at Chatsworth on the Bruce Highway near Horton Rd, he said.

The driver was reported to be out of the truck, which was reportedly carrying tomatoes, and talking to emergency crews and there were no indications of any injuries, the spokesman said.

He said the highway was closed in both directions.
