New beauty space helps Gympie residents feel beautiful

The new business in Mary Street opened its doors about six weeks ago.

Hidden away in the back of an inner city beauty salon, a new business is helping Gympie region residents feel fresh-faced and youthful.

Beau Visage, at the back of Streetwise Hair on Mary St in the heart of Gympie, is a facial business directed by skincare professional and beauty consultant Louise Stevens, and dedicated to providing customers with relaxing facials and quality skincare.

Ms Stevens described herself as “a bit of a gypsy”, though she said she is currently living with her parents in Curra, with no idea where her next move is.

She said she decided to open the business due to a lack of workspace in her job as a sales consultant for beauty brand Nutrimetics Australia.

“We normally do mobile beauty and things like that, but I didn’t have my own space to work from, so I decided to hire out a spot here (at Streetwise Hair) and get my name out there,” she said.

“You come in, we do a skin diagnosis chart, and then cater a facial from that chart based on people's concerns and what they’re trying to target.”

She also said she was still learning about being a business owner, but enjoyed working as a facialist.

Beau Visage means “beautiful face” in French, something Ms Stevens said was fitting for a facial business.

The business opened its doors six weeks ago, with several comments on social media praising Ms Stevens’ work.

“These facials are amazing! You look and feel great,” one post said.

While it is only Ms Stevens working in the space for the time being, she said she hopes to expand the business and train other skin professionals in the near future.

Beau Visage is open on Wednesdays and Fridays.
