Excitement, joy, and a more than a few tears were in the air as hundreds of Gympie Prep students and their parents celebrated the major life milestone of their first day of school on Monday.

The Gympie Times’ photographers were on hand for their first moments at several of the region’s schools including Cooloola Christian College, Gympie South State School, Gympie West State School, Victory College and Monkland State School, capturing precious photos of proud parents and excited children as they took a huge step in their lives.

Good luck to all the teachers, parents and children who are starting school across the region this week.
