A 12-year-old boy, who went missing on Wednesday afternoon, has been located by police after he spent the night out in the cold, with no shoes or jumper.

Connor went missing from his family home in Wolvi around 3:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

His parents informed police he was missing on Wednesday night and the search began.

Police and SES volunteers searched the Neusavale Rd property and other surrounding areas through the night, with locals joining in the hunt this morning.

His mother, Katherine Emery, put the call out on Facebook asking her friends and neighbours to assist in the search.

“Please search your properties and sheds, and let us know if you see him, or notice any missing clothes (since he may have needed to keep warm) if anyone saw him last night, please let us know,” Ms Emery wrote on Facebook.

Connor was eventually found at his friend’s house in Gympie, after walking approximately four hours to get there overnight.

He was found at around 7:30am Thursday morning and is now safe and well.
