A rescue helicopter has been called for a man who is in serious condition after his car rolled on a busy Cooloola Coast road on Sunday morning.
Emergency crews rushed to Rainbow Beach Rd around 9am this morning after a car reportedly slipped and rolled off the road, leaving a man in his 50s with serious injuries to his head, back and shoulders.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the man had a lengthy extrication from his car, and paramedics worked to stabilise him and prepare him for transport as a rescue helicopter landed in a sports field.
The man was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Traffic delays were expected in both directions in and out of the township of Rainbow Beach.
