Man hurt in Gympie Bypass collision

Multiple emergency service crews are at the scene of a crash involving a crane and a truck at a Bruce Highway Bypass work site.

Two Fire and Emergency Service trucks and one ambulance arrived to Drummond Drive, Glanmire, at 2.40pm on Friday, near the Roadcraft Driving Centre, to treat a man with a broken leg.

The man was driving a water truck along an access road at the Gympie bypass site when the collision happened.

The front of the water truck appeared crumpled and was crashed in during the impact.

Firies had to remove the passenger door of the truck to gain access to the driver. The man was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.
