It was a beautiful day out on the luscious green fields of Kandanga as hundreds turned out to celebrate the annual Mary River Festival on Saturday (July 17).

The festival is an annual celebration of the Mary River region where visitors are immersed in local talent and celebrate all the area has to offer.
It is also dedicated to spreading awareness about environmental issues facing the region.
This year’s theme was Responsible River Recreation, with a number of environmental speakers and workshops lined up from 10am, as well as live animal shows, weaving workshops and live music.
