Firefighters battle Glenwood house fire

Multiple emergency crews rushed to Glenwood on Thursday morning after fire broke out in a two-storey Queenslander 100m off the Bruce Hwy.

Fireys, police and paramedics were called to the Astra Rd property, about 30km north of Gympie, shortly after 9am.

A QFES spokeswoman said crews arrived to find heavy smoke but no visible flames at the house.

Crews gained entry to the property through the back door, she said, with one corner of the home the damaged by the blaze.

She initial reports were all occupants had evacuated the home when the fire started.
