The hunt for a huge Saturday Gold Lotto draw winner continues nearly a month after a Gympie store sold the ticket worth $1.6m, with the lucky customer still yet to cash in their fortune.
“While we’ve been unable to confirm the division one win with the winner, we’re sure that when they check their ticket and discover their news, they’ll be jumping for joy,” The Lott spokeswoman Anna Hobdell said.
“We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a ticket from Nextra Gympie to check their entries because they might be the mystery millionaire we’re searching for!” Ms Hobdell said.
The ticket is one of three division one winning entries nationwide, and was purchased at Nextra Gympie before the results were drawn on Saturday April 12. Shop owner Kelly Goatham said there were “a few expletives when we found out we sold (it)”.
“My co-owner Justene thought there was a snake in the house by the way I had yelled out to her in the morning,” Ms Goatham said.
She said she hoped the seemingly unsuspecting winner was one of the store’s regular customers who may not have realised their win.
“We came in early to get our store decorated with balloons and posters, and we’ve been sharing the exciting news with all of our customers,” Ms Goatham said.
The two other division one winning tickets were both announced in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in the winning draw 4563 were 45, 3, 22, 17, 13 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 29 and 31.
