A 32-year-old Nanango man has been killed in a horror two-vehicle crash on the Burnett Hwy at Booubyjan, about 50km northwest of Goomeri, which left the road blocked for several hours.

Emergency crews, including a rescue helicopter, were called to the scene of the crash near the highway’s intersection at Holroyd Rd shortly after 10.30am.

Police said the man was the sole occupant of a car which collided with a motorhome.

The driver of the motorhome, a 71-year-old, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Murgon Hospital.

Police closed the Burnett Hwy from Murgon Gayndah Rd near Windera to the Isis Hwy turn-off at Ban Ban Springs for almost six hours, reopening it about 4.15pm.

They have urged any witnesses or people with dashcam footage or CCTV from the area to come forward.
