No end to community's grief for Nicole and Jeremy

THE outpouring of grief and tributes for Nicole Daly and Jeremy Josefski – young Gympie parents whose lives were lost in a head-on collision has continued.

THE outpouring of grief and tributes to mates Nicole Daly and Jeremy Josefski - young Gympie parents whose lives were lost in a horrific head-on collision on Friday night - continued online yesterday.

Nicole, 26, was helping Jeremy, 30, and his wife Leah move his family to Victoria when tragedy struck on the Newell Hwy in central west New South Wales.

The two died at the scene of the accident, as did three dogs travelling in the Suzuki with them.

Nicole leaves behind husband Michael and two-year-old son Laec.

She was expecting their second child, also lost in the accident.

Jeremy leaves behind his wife Leah and young daughters Keeva and Cree.

The pair's large, extended circle of relatives and friends have taken the devastated families to their bosom.

Jeremy's friend and fellow dairy farmer Kelvin Cochrane posted a moving and lengthy tribute to his best mate, recalling memories of their 20-year friendship and Jeremy's talent in the field.

And Nicole's grief-stricken mother posted a beautiful poem to her page.

"Nicole Daly, my beautiful daughter, the broken chain, we little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.

"In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

"It broke our hearts to lose you, the day God called you home, you left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide.

"And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

"Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."

Kelvin wrote of his mate:

"While I have had to pass on the devastating news to those I've come across, in my heart I have not believed it.

"I'm waiting to get a call from him again to say he's there safe and this is all just some big misunderstanding. I just thought if I don't deal with it, it will go away and he'll just rock up in my doorstep because he was going past and thought he'd drop in again.

"Last week he dropped in to say goodbye on his way south and we spoke the day of the accident; he'd told me the girls were down safely, just had to take the other car down.

"He knew cows. Last time he was at our place, he saw a few cows I had on hay, he would always tell me what he thought exactly, no BS.

"Terrified me because I hate criticism, but I always took it from him.

"To Nicole's family and friends, I'm devastated for you. I only saw Nicole a week ago and we joked away about things. She was a wonderful young person and I'd wish I'd known her better, she was hilarious and full of life and my heart breaks for you all.

"Leah, I do not have the words to say to you. I don't have to tell you that he was a great man and will be loved and missed, I don't have to tell you about the mark he left on me or on the world, I don't have to tell you that you and those beautiful daughters you have meant the world to him.

"I don't have to tell you what he meant to me or how you must feel because I know you're feeling the same thing.

"Two people that were more in love or more perfect for each other I will never meet.

"We were blessed to know him.

"Anyone who met him truly was.

"I'm not ready to say goodbye, so I'm just going to say thanks.

"Not exactly sure how to deal with it, so I wrote a little something to him."

THESE are just a few of the many, many posts on this terrible tragedy.

Lorna Betts-Bailey Oh 'Nelle, Fave & family - I'm gutted. Not near as much as you all tho I guess. Nic was a truly lovely soul and her beautiful traits will live on in little Laec forever. Her wonderful spirit is still around us & will keep us reminded of the special gem she was. Jeremy too was a wonderful & special person - or they wouldn't have been taken so soon. We all know they will be sadly missed and I feel deeply saddened & heartbroken by the loss of these two beautiful lovable souls. It has now put families in such turmoil & grief that only time, love & support may heal. You have all that with your family & friends mate - please any of you - don't hesitate to call on someone for some of that love, support, memories, time, nurturing & healing to help you at this time of sadness. We all love & feel for you all mate. Signing off with a 'heavy & saddened' heart.

Lauren Schulteý I have been trying to work out what to say since Saturday when we received the worst phone call anyone could ever get. I still can't believe this has happened, you never think it will happen to someone. It's such a cruel world we live in. You were one of a kind! A truly special person. Family is sometimes taken for granted and we never tell each other how much we care. My heart aches for Michael, Laec and the rest of the family. RIP Nic, I know you will be the brightest star in the sky.

Merinda Brock Still can't believe this news. Jeremy was always such a beam of happiness, what an awful tragedy for Leah and his daughters. I know they'll grow up knowing what a fantastic person their dad is and always has been. Condolences to all the families involved.

Kristina Reiss What a sad thing to happen, I still remember Nicole in my classes at school, such a beautiful bubbly lady taken away far to soon. My heart goes out to her family especially her husband and her little boy and to Jeremy's family - Leah and their girls, I can not imagine the pain they all are going through right now.
