Nicole and Cameron Miller are new owners of Goomeri Caravan and Bushcamp

Bringing fresh excitement to Goomeri, the new owners of a popular campsite are in love with their new purchase and looking forward to spending more time getting to know the town and the campsite patrons.

Nicole and Cameron Miller never thought they would buy Goomeri Caravan and Bush Camp, but when they saw it on the market, they “fell in love” and just couldn’t resist.

“We want to spruik it to the hills and tell everybody we’re here and to come and enjoy this little piece of paradise that we’ve got,” Mrs Miller said.

Located 2km outside of Goomeri - towards Kilkivan - Goomeri Caravan and Bush Camp is set on more than 300 acres with 126 available campsites.

With five star reviews on TripAdvisor and 97% recommendation rate on Hipcamp, the campground is a coveted and well-loved campsite in the region.

The Millers are looking forward to building on all the work that has already gone into the place.

“There’s just so much potential here,” Mrs Miller said.

The Millers also own a building company in Brisbane, and while Mr Miller continues to run that, Mrs Miller has headed up to Goomeri full-time to take over the management of the campsite.

They were both looking for a change from the bustle of Brisbane when they came across the campsite.

“Our first home in Brisbane had just been bought by developers and we were just looking to get out of town.

“I’d seen this place online and I thought, wow, that looks pretty cool!”

The Millers did not intend to purchase it, but was just looking.

“We’re pretty avid campers, we’ve camped all of our lives since we were tiny tots and we’ve travelled around Australia for six months in our caravan.

“This ticked all the boxes for us.”

As newcomers to the area, the couple are looking forward to getting involved and knowing the township more, a place that has already captured their hearts.
