A Bundaberg family has been left devastated after their boat was destroyed in a fire which gutted the vessel while it was sitting outside their home.
Emergency crews were called to the home near the corner of Avoca and McLucas streets, Avoca, about 12.40pm following reports of the blaze.
Fireys took 20 minutes to control the blaze but were unable to save the boat, named Major Distraction.
A QFES spokeswoman said the fire was under control by 1pm, but firefighters remained at the scene for some time after.
No one was injured and firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby homes.
“Every day we drive past it, it’s such a big, beautiful boat,” a neighbour said.
“Such a shame to see it go down in flames.”
A QFES spokesman at the scene said the boat was insured.
