An unprecedented Gympie region land sale along Tin Can Bay Rd has been sold and settled for a whopping $4.6 million this week.

Century 21 Sales and Marketing Consultant Paul Downman revealed the land package, comprising three parcels totalling 1410 hectares from 64-67 Tin Can Bay Rd, was officially settled to a Sydney buyer on Wednesday afternoon (June 30).

According to realestate.com.au Lot 64 covered 539ha, with Lot 66 covering 395ha and Lot 67 covering 476ha, and the whole package is zoned rural for rural activity.

The land package goes from Rainbow Beach Road, Teewah Point Road, and all parcels have water frontage and Tin Can Bay Rd frontage.

Mr Downman said the sale was the largest he has ever been a part of.

“I don’t know of anything more price-wise, it’s obviously my largest sale,” Mr Downman said.

“We rarely come across this size parcel of land anywhere on the coast, or anywhere on the south east corner that’s for sure.

“It’s rare that we’re going to be seeing this.

“There are smaller parcels of land that need to be developed … and if there is some land for sale we’re going to be swamped with buyers, we’ve got no land for sale at the moment.”

Mr Downman said the buyers had not given him any indication on their plans for the package, though it did come with the restriction of zoned rural.

He said he was wasting no time celebrating his personal best achievement.

“I’m having an early beer and a good steak, and I’ve got a good bottle of moet for dinner,” he said.

“I hope it goes well for the buyers and we’ll see how it eventuates.”

The land was billed as the “last opportunity to purchase land for any subdivision potential” in the area, and the last of its magnitude.
