Dangerous drugs ruin families, endanger the lives of innocent people and lead to life-altering physical and mental conditions.
Despite the well known consequences of taking and dealing in dangerous drugs and paraphernalia, Gladstone’s latest drug offending statistics paint a bleak picture.
Last month alone the Gladstone local government area registered 100 dangerous drug related offences.
Of those, 92 offences occurred in Gladstone and the town’s immediate outliers including Calliope and Mount Larcom.
September 15 was the most prevalent day for drug offending in the Gladstone LGA, when 15 offences were registered.
The following are the 10 streets with the highest amount of dangerous drug offending in the Gladstone area last month:
Bruce Highway, Bororen (Near Wadeleigh Street) – Five offences
Toolooa Street, South Gladstone (Near Bonar Street) – Four offences
Hildebrand Street, Gladstone Central – Four offences
Yarroon Street, Gladstone Central – Four offences
Roe Street, Miriam Vale – Four offences
Mars Crescent, Telina – Three offences
Tigalee Crescent, Sun Valley – Three offences
Latrobe Street, Tannum Sands – Two offences
Aerodrome Road, Clinton – Two offences
Wicks Street, New Auckland – Two offences
