Allegedly stolen car crashes on Bruce Highway, Mt Larcom Rd

Police are searching for a grey Nissan Navara involved in a crash at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Gladstone-Mt Larcom Road after it was allegedly stolen.

It is understood the owner of the allegedly stolen car was following it in her Mazda 3 when the collision occurred.

A woman who says she is the owner of the two cars said the allegedly stolen Nissan reversed into her Mazda 3 while they were on the phone to police.

She said the car was stolen on Saturday morning.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said it was a “hit and run traffic crash”.

She said they were notified of an accident involving a “possibly stolen car” about 3.45pm on Saturday, April 20.

The owner told The Morning Bulletin following the collision that her 14-year-old daughter suffered neck and back pains and she herself suffered back pains.

The spokeswoman said police spoke with a woman in her 20s and a man in his 60s in the Mazda 3 following the collision.

Police are asking anyone with information about the grey Nissan Navara to contact them.

Two Queensland Ambulance Services crews and one Queensland Fire and Emergency Services unit responded to the incident.
