People charged with a number of alleged offences in Gladstone region

Police have charged a number of people in relation to different alleged crimes across the Gladstone region.

A number of people are expected to face court in the coming weeks after being charged with numerous alleged offences across the region.

It is alleged a West Gladstone man, 39, stole meat products from a Philip St business about 11.45am on May 17.

It is further alleged on May 29 he stole a security camera from another Philip St business.

On June 1 the man allegedly stole meat and dairy products from a Dawson Highway business and a security camera from another Philip St business.

On June 5 the man allegedly stole Lego and a security camera from another Philip St business.

The man was charged with five counts of stealing after a previous conviction.

He is expected to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Traffic and drug offences, Callemondah

A man and woman will face court after a police search during a traffic intercept.

About 4am on June 1, police pulled over a grey Ford Falcon on Garfield St at Callemondah where both the driver and passenger were detained for a search.

It is alleged the driver, a 39-year-old South Gladstone man, was unlicensed and the car was unregistered, uninsured, and had fake registrations plates.

It’s also alleged the car was also subject to a police number plate confiscation period.

During the intercept, police also searched the belongings of the woman, a 36-year-old from Toolooa, and they allegedly found a number of empty clip seal bags, clip seal bags containing methylamphetamine, and two syringes.

The man was charged with one count of drive unlicensed, drive unregistered vehicle, drive uninsured vehicle, drive defective vehicle,using vehicle with number plate attached granted for another vehicle, operate vehicle during number plate confiscation period, and remove number plate confiscation notice.

The woman was charged with possess dangerous drugs, fail to dispose of needle and syringe, and possess property suspected of having been used in commission of a drug offence.

They are both expected to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 27.

Possess knife and bat, Barney Point

About 3.30am on May 28 police were called to a home on Brisbane St at Barney Point after receiving reports a man was attempting to break into a house while armed with a knife.

Police allegedly found the man walking along Brisbane St where he was searched.

Officers allegedly found the man with a black bat and a fold out knife.

The man, a 33-year-old from Barney Point, was charged with unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M and possess knife in public place.

He is set to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 13.

Drug offences, Telina

About 1am on June 7, police pulled over a black Honda CR-V on Dalrymple Drive at Telina where the driver was detained for a search.

During the search police allegedly found cash, a knife and several marijuana plants and utensils and that the driver, a 62-year-old Miriam Vale man, was unlicensed.

The man was charged with possess dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs, possess anything for use, property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the drugs misuse act, possess knife in public place, and drive motor vehicle while unlicensed.

He is expected to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 27.

Church break and enters

Gladstone detectives are appealing for help from the public in relation to four break-and-enters into churches that have occurred in the Gladstone area between June 2 and 7.

Police are asking anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage, in the vicinity of the below areas to get in touch.

Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Herbertson Street, West Gladstone between 10pm, Friday, June 2 to 6am, Saturday, June 3.

Gladstone Anglican Church, Auckland Street, Gladstone Central between 11am, Sunday, June 4 to 8am, Monday, June 5.

MyCity Church, Canoe Point Road, Tannum Sands between 4:45am Monday, June 5 to 10am, Tuesday, June 6.

The Apostolic Church, Auckland Street, Gladstone Central between 5pm, Tuesday, June 6 and 1:40pm Wednesday, June 7.

Police are asking all churches and places of worship to ensure all valuables kept on premises are secure, and donation boxes emptied each day.
