Emergency services respond to vehicle into tree on Bruce Hwy, Benaraby

A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital after he was trapped in a vehicle by his leg after the car he was in crashed into a tree on the Bruce Hwy.

A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital after he was trapped in a vehicle by his leg after the car he was in crashed into a tree on the Bruce Hwy in the Gladstone region on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash at Benaraby just before 7am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man in his 70s was trapped inside the vehicle by one of his legs and that crews were working to free him.

It is understood crews freed the man from the vehicle and that paramedics were working to stabilise him.

A QAS spokesman said the man was transported to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition with a leg injury.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the crash had not obstructed the road and that there were no traffic delays.
