The man told police he had nowhere else to go before he was found to have contravened his DVO.

A Gladstone man told police he had nowhere else to go when he was caught at a barred residence, a court heard.

The man, 23, pleaded guilty in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to contravention of a Domestic Violence Order.

On April 16 2020, a Domestic Violence Protection order was issued in the Gladstone Magistrates Court which named the defendant as a respondent.

On July 25, around 5pm, police attended an address on Sun Valley Road in relation to another incident.

While at the address, police identified the defendant was temporarily living at the resident in contravention of his order.

The defendant told police he had been kicked out of his most recent residence and this was where he was staying until he could find alternate accommodation.

He was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
