A man was taken to hospital after chopping a finger with machinery in Central Queensland.

A man was taken to hospital after chopping a finger with machinery in the Gladstone region.

Paramedics were called to the incident at a private residence at Boyne Island about 9.50am on Sunday, June 29.

Initial reports suggested the man had chopped the top of a finger off.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 70s suffered a finger injury while using machinery and he was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.
