A fast moving grass fire has broken out at a Central Queensland property, with multiple crews called to the scene.

Four crews responded to a grass fire in the Gladstone region on Monday.

A fast moving grass fire has broken out at a Central Queensland property, with multiple crews called to the scene.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called at 1.30pm Monday to the large, rapidly moving grass fire at a Kirkwood Road and Haddock Drive property at O’Connell in the Gladstone region.

A QFES spokesman said the first crew arrived at the scene at 1.50pm and three other crews were sent to assist.

They worked to put out the fire by trying to establish fire breaks, with the head of the fire put out at 2.15pm.

Three sides of the fire were put out at 2.30pm.

Queensland Police Service were called to the scene to direct traffic.

The fire was completely extinguished at 2.50pm and two fire crews remain onsite.
