Lockyer Valley flooding: Man assisted by passers-by after vehicle stuck in floodwaters at Withcott

A man whose vehicle was reportedly stuck in floodwaters was lucky to walk away after passers-by assisted him.

Storms continue to sweep southeast Queensland

A man is lucky to have escaped without injury after his vehicle became trapped in floodwaters in the Lockyer Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Gittins Rd at Withcott about 5.30pm.

When crews arrived, a man had already been freed from his vehicle by passers-by.

The man did not require treatment or transportation.

In another incident, fire crews needed to assist paramedics in navigating flooded roads to attend to a patient at nearby Murphys Creek just after 7pm.

The patient in question had reportedly been blocked off by the water but did not need to be rescued.

Four roads are currently affected by floodwaters in the Lockyer Valley as a result of heavy rainfall.
