Lilydale man charged after crash on Warrego

A 47-year-old Lilydale man crashed into a guard rail on the Warrego Highway after falling asleep at the wheel

A 47-year-old Lilydale man crashed into a guardrail on the Warrego Highway last night after falling asleep at the wheel.

 Laidley police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Jim McDonald said it would be alleged the car was travelling eastbound at Crowley Vale when the single vehicle incident occurred just after 10pm.

Snr Sgt McDonald said police located dangerous drugs at the scene including two containers of white powder and cannabis.

They also discovered syringes and a set of scales.

The car was also carrying a 20-year-old Crows Nest man and an 18-year-old Meringandan female who were taken to Toowoomba Hospital.

The 47-year-old driver will appear in court charged with one count of unlicensed driving, one count of driving without due care and attention, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and two counts of possession of utensils.
