The developer behind the Plainland Bunnings proposal has asked council to "stop the clock" on its development.

THE developer behind the Plainland Bunnings proposal has asked council to "stop the clock" on its decision-making process for the development.

The Lockyer Valley Regional Council was set to make a decision on the first permit for the development today, but a last-minute request by the developer meant councillors will have to wait to say yay or nay.

Council officers recommended the application for a material change of use at the site be approved. Further permits would have needed to be approved in addition.

Spinks & Co is the developer of the site, and director Martin Spinks said the company was still committed to the project.

"We have paused that application at this point in time, pending further discussions with council on a couple of things," Mr Spinks said.

"We are still very much committed to getting an outcome."

The proposed warehouse will span more than 9000m2 and be built on Endeavour Way, Plainland.

While he wouldn't go into details on these discussions, he said they were "minor" in nature.

"It's not completely satisfactory where everything sits with everything, but it's very close," he said.

"Our every intention is to get it going."

The planning act allows applicants to request the council pause its decision-making process.

Spinks & Co asked the council to hold on application for 130 days, moving the decision into September.

However, it can request the process be restarted earlier.

Mr Spinks said the developer was grateful the council had moved so quickly on the application, submitted in November, to bring it to a vote in just over three months.
