The Fraser Coast Regional Council has lobbied to have the speed limit lowered in sections of three Urangan streets.
A review of the speed limits to be lowered to 50km/h follows a petition to lower the speed limit in Pulgul Street between Boat Harbour Drive and Kent Street.
The Council review concluded if the speed was lowered in Pulgul Street, it should also be lowered in other areas.
The proposed speed limits are 50km/h in:
- Pulgul Street from Boat Harbour Drive to Kent Street
- King Street from Kent Street to Elizabeth Street
- Kent Street from Short Street to Pulgul Street
The results of the review will be presented to the Speed Management Committee, which includes Queensland Police Service and Department of Transport and Main Roads representatives, for consideration.
