Safety warning after 52-foot vessel sinks off Hervey Bay

A 52-foot vessel has sunk in four metres of water about 800m off the beach at Hervey Bay.

Two people winched to safety after boat capsizes

A warning has been issued to boaties and other water enthusiasts after a 52-foot vessel sunk off the coast of Hervey Bay.

Part of the vessel is visible from Torquay Beach, with Volunteer Marine Rescue being notified of the sunken vessel by Maritime Safety Queensland.

According to VMR, the boat sank off the coast on June 30.

The boat was located about 800m off the beach in about four metres of water.

Lights from the boat were visible at night.

Maritime Safety Queensland was contacted for further information.
