Repairs will begin on two public boat ramps in Urangan Harbour on Monday, May 12.
The works, which will improve usability and safety for boaties while extending the life of the ramps, is set to be completed within a week, weather permitting.
Contractors completing the work for Maritime Safety Queensland will ensure boat launching and retrieving access is retained for boaties at one of the boat ramps while the other is being worked on.
Please use extra caution around the worksite and closely follow all directions from the contractor’s site supervisor.
The works will see loose rock and obstructions cleared from the surface of the two boat ramps, and the checking and repairing any sudden drop-offs adjacent to the ramps to ensure vehicle and user safety near the ramp edges.
Grout-filled mattresses will be installed to ensure loose rock does not end up on the ramp surfaces in future.
This will better protect the ramps against scour.
MSQ would like to thank the community for its patience and co-operation during this important work.
