The crews worked to contain the blaze on the corner of Ann and Tribune St, 3km from the Maryborough CBD, after it was reported about 1pm on Sunday.

Eight fire crews remained on scene three hours later as the fire was contained after burning through a hectare of land, a Queensland fire and emergency service spokesperson said.

Paramedics were also on scene and reported assessing one person in stable condition who did not require transportation to hospital.
