Kitchen fire causes unit evacuation on Beach Rd, Pialba

A fire has caused the evacuation of a unit complex on the Fraser Coast.

A unit complex has been evacuated after a fire started in a kitchen overnight on the Fraser Coast.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said two crews were called to Beach Rd in Pialba about 6.40pm yesterday, May 4.

He said there were reports of a fire that began in a kitchen on tiles and it was put out by neighbours less than 10 minutes after it started and before fire crews arrived.

The fire spokesman said the complex was evacuated over the incident.

Paramedics said no one was injured.
