A drug driver has vowed to leave Hervey Bay after he was sentenced for a number of offences.

A man has vowed to leave Hervey Bay for good after pleading guilty to a series of offences in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.

Jac William Bede Hewson was convicted of possessing dangerous drugs, drug driving, possessing drug utensils and driving with a licence suspended by demerit points.

The court heard he had initially been caught with 6.3 grams of meth, but the total had dropped significantly when calculated on purity.

He was also caught with a quantity of MDMA and a glass pipe.

Representing himself, Hewson said he was planning to leave town.

“I’ve been trying to get out of Hervey Bay for the last 12 months of my life,” he said.

Hewson was fined $1100 and was disqualified from driving for six months.
