Five taken to Hervey Bay Hospital after Pialba ‘gas smell’ at business

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the business near the Hervey Bay city centre amid reports of a “gas smell”.

Five people have been taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for observation amid concerns they may have been exposed to a gas leak at a business near the city centre.

Fireys and paramedics were called to the business on Main St near Imelda St, shortly after 10am amid reports of a “gas smell” at a business.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said fireys tested the area thoroughly but were unable to detect any actual leak in the area.

A Queensland Ambulance Spokeswoman said the five patients, of undisclosed age and gender, were taken to hospital in stable conditions.
