The family of a Hervey Bay man who died suddenly say his wife and two daughters have been left “shattered”.
Beau Ward’s shock death was revealed in a GoFundMe launched Wednesday for the family by Brittany Dobrilla to help his wife Jozlyn and daughters, nine-year-old Natalia and seven-year-old Lexi.
Ms Dobrilla said in the campaign Mr Ward’s “sudden, unexpected” death “has left everyone who knew him absolutely shattered”.
“Beau was the funniest, kindest, and hardest-working man you could ever meet,” Ms Dobrilla said.
“A devoted dad, a loving husband, and a Civil Miner who gave everything for his family.
“This tragedy has turned our family’s world upside down.”
She said the fundraiser was started to “help ease the financial burden for not only Jozlyn but also for these beautiful little girls who are now facing the heartbreaking reality that their daddy isn’t coming home”.
“This loss is devastating and a harsh reminder that too many men feel they have to suffer in silence,” she said.
“Please remember it’s never too weak to speak.”
The GoFundMe received more than $12,000 in donations within the first day of its launch, easily clearing its $10,000 goal.
Within hours of the campaign being launched, Luke Dobrilla took to Facebook to thank those who had helped saying the family was “overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends, family, and even strangers”.
