Police are redirecting traffic after a drum spill of an unknown substance has closed off a Maryborough street.

A Fraser Coast suburban street has been closed off following a mysterious spill from a drum that fell from the back of a truck.
Tiger Street in Maryborough has been closed off following reports of the incident earlier this afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a drum full of an unknown substance had fallen off of the back of a truck and spilt over Tiger Street about 2pm today.
He said that police were redirecting traffic, however, the Fraser Coast Regional Council would soon take over closures.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said an exclusion zone was set up around the area as two crews worked on cleaning the road.
Paramedics are on standby, however, no patients have been reported.
