UPDATE
The Bombers have won the Grand Final for the fourth year in a row, and on home grounds, as they versed Bundy’s Eagles on the Norm McLean Oval last night.
The score stayed close throughout the whole game, with Hervey Bay Bombers’ coach Claud Issa unsure who was going to take the win at halftime, as Bombers were only in the lead by one point.
Claud told the Chronicle he felt “fantastic” after the team’s win, even though it “was stressful the whole way through”.
“It’s a sigh of relief, (the Bombers) deserved it ... You look at a clock but you can’t celebrate too early, at the end of the day,” he said
“It was one of the hardest years I think (the Bombers) have played ... Full credit to Bundy, they were bloody unreal.
“We’ve had our ups and downs this year, but I think this is going to be the best Premiership they’ve won this season.”
Claud gave the Bombers best player award to Stacey Ruckman.
“That was four quarters of great football ... Put on a show for everyone,” he said.
