Flames shoot from car fire in Hendra with traffic diversions in place

Traffic diversions have been set up after a car burst into flames on a street in Brisbane’s inner north.

Traffic diversions are in place after a car fire stopped traffic in Brisbane’s north on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to an address on Gellibrand Street in Hendra just after 5pm following reports a vehicle started smoking.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the owner of the vehicle had been driving when the car started smoking.

Police had put traffic diversions in place while firefighters worked to put out the blaze.

No treatment was required for the driver of the car.
