Labor’s Shayne Neumann has held the seat of Blair since 2007 and retained it at the 2022 election with a 5.23 per cent margin on a two-party-preferred basis.

Blair takes in most of the City of Ipswich and Somerset Regional Council, and includes the towns of Rosewood, Lowood, Fernvale, Kilcoy, Esk and Toogoolawah.
There are 10 candidates this election, including (in ballot paper order): Carl Mutzelburg for the LNP; Anthony Bull (Libertarian); Kathryn Chadwick (Gerard Rennick People First); Angela Lowery (Animal Justice Party); Edward McDonald (Trumpet of Patriots); Shayne Neumann (Australian Labor Party); John Frederick Purdon (Family First); Paul Toner (The Greens); Anthony Hopkins (Legalise Cannabis Party); Brendan Kross (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation).
