A Queensland influencer who allegedly tortured her baby girl for social media benefit has been accused of breaching her bail conditions by her ex-partner, a court has heard.
The 34-year-old Sunshine Coast mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparation to commit crimes with dangerous things, and one count each of torture, making child exploitation material and fraud.
Police alleged she administered unprescribed medications to the infant over months for financial gain and social media recognition.
The matter was mentioned on Monday without her appearance after she was released on bail in January.
Defence lawyer Matthew Cuskelly sought the disclosure of a statement made by the child’s father, who was not accused of any wrongdoing, that may be in relation to claims she had breached her bail.
Mr Cuskelly argued that the truth was in fact the opposite as his client was not involved in any breaches of bail.
“The statement has been made by a witness in the substandard matter,” he said.
The prosecution said they had not received any information related to the statement.
Her bail was under the condition of having only supervised video or audio contact with the child and having limited contact with her ex-partner.
Police had not made any charges relevant to her bail.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Anthony Gett requested Mr Cuskelly go to the Department of Public Prosecution for the particular statement.
The court also heard a brief of evidence was supposed to be due earlier this month, but some medical material was missing.
The matter was adjourned to June 23 with the woman’s attendance not required.
The woman remained on bail under the same conditions.
