A man driving on the Bruce Highway on a cocktail of drugs had to be stopped by a truck that wedged his van into a concrete barrier.
A court heard Michael Levi Nichol was driving on the Bruce Highway at North Lakes during early peak hour on May 14 when he swerved across the centre and left lanes, onto the shoulder of the road, causing multiple other vehicles to take evasive action.

Multiple calls were made to police before a truck eventually forced Nichol’s van off the road and wedged it between his truck and a concrete barrier.
Nichol was unresponsive when police arrived and had to be helped from his vehicle, before becoming agressive.
Nichol was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital due to his intoxication.
He pleaded guilty at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court to dangerous driving while adversely affected.
A note from an RBWH doctor found he had a “cocktail” of drugs in him including GHB, cocaine and methylamphetamine in his system.
The note said the drugs in Nichol’s system would have “significantly impaired” his ability to drive safely.
Magistrate Trevor Morgan said Nichols driving was “horrifying and clearly dangerous”.
“You had just about every drug going in you,” he said.
He was fined $2000 and ordered off the roads for 18 months. He will have to use an interlock system when he is able to get a licence again.
