COMPETITORS from all over Australia will be converging on Dalby from Monday September 23 to compete for their place as top dog and a spot in next year's Australian Sheepdog team.

Queensland Working Sheep Dog Association Inc president Linda Mitchell said each state got a chance to run the event.

"Queensland had this year to run it and so we thought straight away Dalby,” Mrs Mitchell said.

"We came and talked to (the Dalby and District Show Committee) straight away, even before we had it and everyone was on board.

"There was no arguments at the meeting or anything, it was just Dalby.”

Mrs Mitchell said there was a great venue for the event here in Dalby.

"The interstate people that have already come can't believe it.

"Best venues they've said that they've seen and they've been to a fair few Supremes.”

Along with top-quality competitors, fantastic judges will be overlooking all sections.

Stephan Cross and Michael Rigby will be the judges for the Australian Supreme, Harold Waldron the Reserve Supreme judge, Michael Ray the Novice judge and Peter Mitchell the Encourage judge.

Mrs Mitchell extended her thanks to the Dalby Show Society and Western Downs Regional Council for their help and support in having the trials hosted in Dalby.

The Rotary Nomads will be operating a canteen throughout the week so be sure to head down to the showgrounds, grab a bite to eat and see Australia's best working dogs in action.
