THE weather forecast for Christmas Day is looking sunny and bright, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

The weather forecast for the day is looking to be quite warm and sunny all day, according to BOM forecaster Lachlan Stoney.

"It's looking pretty good for Dalby on Christmas,” Mr Stoney said.

"Very mild day ahead with sunny conditions and maximum temperatures of 32. Just a warm pleasant day!”

Dalby will also be kicking off the New Year with some more of this sunny weather. The warmth is expected to continue all the way into early January.

"It's a very stable weather pattern that we've got at the moment,” Mr Stoney added.

"It's looking like the New Year period will be roughly the same. At the moment we're looking at temperatures of about 35 for New Year's Eve.”

"We're not really expecting any rain between now and New Year's either.”

This bodes well for Santa Claus, who will be doing his rounds around the world in the next 24 hours.
