From drink driving while on P-plates to being caught driving without a licence while looking for a lost cat, these are some of the most recent drivers to face Dalby Magistrates Court.

Speeding and drink-driving the top causes of deaths on roads

A number of drink or unlicensed drivers have fronted Dalby Magistrates Court. From a search for a missing cat that ended in a court date to a mid-range drink driving P-plater, here are the latest results from court.

NO CONVICTION RECORDED

Clinton John Turvey

Turvey faced Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday pleading guilty to high range speeding and drink driving over the general alcohol limit.

The court was told police intercepted a grey Volkswagen travelling 106km/h in a 50km/h zone on Miles St Jondaryan, on July 20 about 2.10pm.

Turvey was then issued a breath test blowing a reading of 0.061.

He lost eight demerit points and had his licence suspended for six months.

No conviction was recorded

Kim Suzanne Ackling

Ackling also faced court pleading guilty to driving without a licence after being disqualified.

The court was told Ackling was driving on Condamine St, Dalby on July 16 when she was pulled after by police for a licence check which revealed she had been unlicensed from the month prior.

Ackling, who appeared emotional in court, said she had been out looking for her cat when police had pulled her over and she had “lost so much recently and didn’t want to also lose her cat”.

Ackling was hit with a $200 fine and a six month loss of licence. No conviction was recorded.

Lincoln Andrew Jannusch

Meanwhile Jannusch appeared in court charged with mid-range drink driving.

The court was told about 1.57am on August 4, police responding to an unrelated matter involving a party detected Jannusch driving his vehicle on Miles St, Dalby.

The father of two was issued a breath test, blowing a reading of 0.129 while being on P-plates which required him to be zero.

Jannusch told the police he had been out pigging with his dogs at the time.

He was issued a $500 fine, a three month disqualification and no conviction was recorded.
