IT MIGHT have been an action-packed four days of activities and making things, but the highlight of the 2018 Cuboree for Ben Tunley was definitely getting covered in mud.
Like many 11-year-old boys, Ben loves to throw himself in the odd mud puddle and there was no shortage of opportunities at the Scouts Queensland biennial holiday camp.
This year's event was held in Maryborough and Ben was among eight boys and girls from the Dalby-Yumborra Cub Scouts who enjoyed the school holiday adventure.
And despite a huge range of events including whale watching, rock climbing, discos and craft activities, the best memories for Ben were definitely a muddy AFL state of origin match against Scouts from New South Wales and a colour powder fight that left the group filthy but elated.
Cub Scouts have the opportunity to attend one Cuboree before moving on to the Scouts Jamboree for older kids, but Ben said he would love to go back and help out down the track.
"It's for ages 9-11 and I just got in,” Ben said.
"You are allowed to go back as a helper though, so hopefully I will do that if I can.”
